just to show how much of a blessing it is to have me as a friend, i drove out specially to buy a cake for cyrille kuntz cuz it's his birthday tmr and since we'll be at work we can't celebrate it so we celebrated for him today.. haha..
skyped with my family today and guess wad daddy said to me?
daddy: "must keep fit, u're getting so fat look at ur tummy! dont train just to pass ippt, u know that for ur job u have to stay physically fit all the time.."
daddy: "dont worry about chinese new year, mummy and i dont really like it anyway, it's just a flow of motion. i guess wad u really miss out is only the ang baos."
me: "no, it's the steamboat.."
daddy: "aiyah steamboat anytime also can eat one, when you're back i cook for u"
haha i guess i was pretty touched by that cuz it shows that he cares..
maybe today is one of those emo days that when i look at people's pictures and when they're all smiling happily, i wonder to myself, "what does it take to be happy?"
a few years back, i thought by having financial security i'll be happy. today, i would say, having more money wouldn't be a bad thing but i think i'm doing fine, at 21.5 yrs old, i have over 30k sgd in assets, and i'm drawing 4k a month with not really alot of things to spend on.. although i feel poor all the time i know that in reality i'm better off than many of my peers out there, struggling to make ends meet, worrying about their tuition fees and issues like this. so, wad am i emo-ing about?
it's probably one of the more exciting careers one could have out there. but i don't feel as great. someone really old in this field once said in a dialogue session "we're surrounded by people of the same calibre that we tend to forget our individual importance. every now and then we have to remind ourselves the tough roads we've come through and until today so as not to undermine our own abilities."
argh. this thought is not going the right direction, it should really stop here.
